The following are letters I’ve written and/or copied to Justice Minister Don Morgan (5 in total).
Included below is the 1 response I received, in which he completely ignored his mandated responsibilities.
(Note: If you have difficulty reading these letters, click on them to enlarge)
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Subsequent
to a cabinet shuffle in May 2012, Don Morgan was dropped as Justice Minister. He is now the Minister Responsible for WCB,
and can be contacted at: minister.ae@gov.sk.ca
Subsequent to the same shuffle Gordon Wyant, Q.C. became the new Justice Minister. Interested parties can reach
him at: minister.ju@gov.sk.ca

Disgusted with the lack of
action/response regarding WCB's privacy violations (and the contravention of section 171(1) of their Act), the following letter
was sent to various WCB/ government officials, including Justice Minister Don Morgan:
Subject:
Re: Sections 171(1) and 171(2) of the WCA
Thomas

Re:
Sections 171(1) and 171(2)
of The Workers’ Compensation Act, 1979 (WCA)
The following is further to the issue of WCB’s unauthorized disclosure
of employer/employee information, as it pertains to above legislation.
Given I have taken the necessary steps to have this issue remedied, and appropriate
action has not been taken by the WCB Solicitor, the Board/Chair at WCB, and the Minister Responsible for WCB; the way is now
clear for me to request a criminal investigation into this matter. With respects to the WCB Solicitor, I am now also at liberty
to file a formal complaint with The Law Society of Saskatchewan.
In the days to come I’ll be preparing a written statement regarding
this issue, which will be filed with both the RCMP, and The Law Society of Saskatchewan. This statement will show that
the aforementioned officials have disregarded their mandated duty to adhere to, and/or uphold WCB legislation/law (i.e.
sections 171(1) and 171(2) of the WCA). Furthermore it will show that the Board/Chair at WCB have neglected their “Duty
to Protect Confidential Information”, as specified in their Governance Policy. It is my understanding that such a policy
is the result of a Board decision, which carries the same weight as a Court of Queen's Bench decision.
Interested parties will find all relevant information concerning this issue
at:
Not unlike other recipients
of the above, there was no response from the Justice Minister.

Given it is the Justice Minister's mandate to ensure
that provincial statutes are adhered to, the following was hand-delivered to his office. Attached to this correspondence
was my formal statement regarding WCB's contravention of section 171(1), along with the evidence confirming this. You will also note that
I took issue with the former WCB Chair's effort to cover-up this contravention:

By letter dated April 1, 2008 (below), I wrote the Premier regarding his government’s handling
of this issue (or rather lack thereof). As this involved the Minister of Justice, I copied it to his attention:
Within days of sending the above, I received the following response from the Justice Minister:
As indicated in its governance policy,
the Board at WCB is obligated “to operate in a manner which is accountable to workers, employers, the general
public and government.” Notwithstanding the Justice Minister's comments to "an independant quasi judicial board
like the WCB", the fact remains that section 171(1) of the WCB Act is a provincial statute and as such, he is mandated
to ensure this legislation is adhered to. Not only has he ignored this mandate, he has refused to hold the Board to its
accountability to government.

Below
is 1 of 3 identical letters sent to the Board at WCB, regarding the unlawful disclosure of their (my co-worker’s)
personal information. By fax dated April 28, 2008 I forwarded these letters to the Justice Minister,
requesting his attention to them:
Neither the Board, nor the Justice Minister
responded to the above.

Below
is the last correspondence sent to the Premier, which simply advised him of this website. As the Justice Minister was
instrumental in the development of this site, it was also copied to his attention. I did not request a response from either
the Minister or the Premier, nor do I expect one.
